Magical Moment

Swiss watchmaker Emilie Chouriet’s Alchimie collection represents that magical moment when a watchmaker’s touch brings the whole complex mechanism of the timepiece to life and this is evident in good effect as the watches transmute into beautiful timepieces. The encounter between the parts is not a simple mechanical process of addition, but a real moment of magic.

The Alchimie collection, with the bright mineral colors and the pure and clean design of its dial, echoes this moment of magic in the language of watchmaking. Rather than simply illustrate the process of transmutation, the brand has created an abstract design which sublimates the idea of an encounter in which metal components turn into rich timepieces.

The watch features an automatic movement and the case is a stainless steel case that is water-resistant to 30 meters. The watch is available in a silver white dial, Bordeaux dial, champagne dial or dark grey dial with black or silvered hands with satin strap or steel bracelet. The watch diameter for the women’s version is 30mm and for the men’s version is 40mm.

The brand inherited wings from tradition; they nurtured this precious heritage in order to pass it on to future generations. Humans have always dreamed of flying, and Emile Chouriet chose to echo this dream with its first timepiece, Les Ailes du Temps, inscribing the motif of wings in the DNA of their brand.

Jean Depéry, the founder of the manufacture, descends from a family involved in the watchmaking industry in Geneva since the 17th century and chose to name the company after Emile Chouriet, a gifted 17th century watchmaker for whom his own ancestor, François Dagobert Depéry, had produced components. The name is a testimony to the founder’s vision: a tribute to the collaboration between his ancestor and the master watchmaker, it underlines the continued importance of the union of talents and expertise in the field of luxury timekeeping.

In 2012, Emilie Chouriet opened a new factory in Meyrin and reinforced their team of talented craftsmen and professionals bringing a breath of fresh air. Since then, each new timepiece helps them forge their new identity at the same time as it is inspired by it, enriching a catalogue that combines overall coherence and constant innovation. Today they produce in-house mechanical movements and are currently developing their own assortment, the beating heart of the watch movement, a once in a lifetime opportunity for a watchmaker
