Oris has introduced the Artelier Grande Lune into its ladies’ watch collection. The watch marks the first time Oris has produced a ladies’ watch with a large moon phase indication, seen through a generous dial aperture that dominates the watch’s diamond-dot dial.
The Grande Lune is a beautiful watch design that follows the same codes as the recently updated Artelier, Oris’s flagship collection. It features the Artelier’s signature fluid, tapered case shape and graceful silhouette, a look that brings the line’s classic style right up to date.
Oris’s designers have given the Grand Lune a number of feminine touches. The silver dial is finished with a delicate, intricate guilloche pattern, while 11 diamond hour markers twinkle provocatively, reflecting light and shining like the stars. A second version of the watch takes the diamond motif a step further, setting the bezel with 72 brilliant-cut diamonds. The moon phase itself features a deep midnight blue background, a detailed printed moon and a series of stars arranged in a poetic formation.
Under the Artelier Grande Lune’s dial is Oris Caliber 763, a new automatic movement with an Oris-developed module. As well as offering an oversized Grande Lune function, it also provides a date indication at 6 o’clock. The moon phase is adjusted via a quick-adjustment system operated through the watch’s single crown.
The watch comes on either a stainless steel articulated bracelet or a midnight blue leather strap that complements the blue of the moon phase display. This is both an elegant, feminine watch and a wonderful example of Oris’s watchmaking abilities. The new Oris-developed Caliber 763 is the latest in a long line of Oris innovations and brings the traditional Grande Lune complication into orbit for stylish women who are looking for an attractively priced Swiss Made watch.
